PaisoTerms of Service
These terms apply when you use Paiso: the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, and paiso.net. Paiso is made by Vaibhav Mangroliya (VKKM). By using Paiso, you agree to these terms. We kept them short.
The short version. Paiso is a free ledger for shared expenses. It records who paid what and never moves, holds or collects money. Enter things honestly, keep your account safe, respect the people in your groups, and you can leave whenever you like.
What Paiso is
Paiso helps you keep track of shared expenses and who owes whom. Balances are worked out from what you and your group members enter, so they're only as accurate as those entries. Paiso doesn't process payments, and a balance in Paiso isn't a bill from us.
If Paiso opens another app for you to pay someone, such as a UPI app, PayPal or Revolut, the payment happens in that app, between you, the other person and that service. Paiso isn't part of it and can't undo it, so check the person and the amount before you pay.
Your account
You need to be at least 13, or the minimum age to use online services where you live. Use your real details, keep your sign-in safe, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
Your content and your groups
What you add to Paiso stays yours: expenses, notes, names and anything else. You let us store it, sync it to your devices, and show it to the members of the groups you add it to, only so that Paiso works. Everything in a shared group is visible to every member of that group. Add other people's names and email addresses only if they'd be fine with it, and share invite links with care, because anyone who has one can use it.
Fair use
Don't use Paiso to break the law, to harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or to record made-up debts. Don't send spam through invites, and don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of Paiso, or get into accounts or groups that aren't yours. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do.
Scans, exchange rates and Money Coach
Receipt scanning, currency conversion and Money Coach are there to help, and they can be wrong. Exchange rates come from a public source and may differ from your bank's. Money Coach does the maths on your loans; it isn't financial advice. Check important numbers yourself.
Price and changes
Paiso is free. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you clearly before anything changes, and what you've already recorded won't be locked away. Features may be added, changed or removed as Paiso grows.
Availability
We work hard to keep Paiso running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. You can export your data as CSV from the app at any time.
Leaving
You can stop using Paiso and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or as described on our account deletion page. Expenses you added to a shared group stay visible to its other members, as our privacy policy explains.
Responsibility
Paiso is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for money owed or paid between users, for payments made in other apps, or for decisions made based on balances, scans or estimates in Paiso. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law, including your rights as a consumer where you live.
App stores
If you got Paiso from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to the download, including Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store apps. Apple and Google aren't responsible for Paiso or its support.
Privacy
How we handle your data is explained in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using Paiso after a change, the new terms apply.
